Cherry picking LBB2 versions...

Maybe not such a great idea. The LBB2 damage system works well as is. Getting hit by just one triple-missile turret packs quite a wallop. Getting hit by a battery of them seems to add insult to injury.

I like the idea of adding barbettes for higher TL weapons, and batteries of turrets being slaved to a separate computer and maybe requiring less crew, but uber-weapons seem sort of out of place in LBB2.

It was nice thought exercise though. ;)

Yah, the Book 2 method can't be built up without adding worlds of hurt.

On the other hand, grafting in High Guard combat could give me the way out. The trick is keeping some semblance of backwards compatibility.
