CDRom Project News

Hi guys,
I received a copy yesterday & had a little time to wander around & kick the tires. The scan quality looks good to me (caveat: I'm generally happy if it's clean & legible, read=not overly picky), a bit better than the best I've seen from Drivethrurpg. There are some pages that were scanned upside-down, though. That will make duplex printing a little tricky--or wasteful--for those of us who prefer hard copy. Poster-maps are presented in .TIF format and look very sharp. There are additional files outlining the MT computer games, overview of MT development, and a reprint on the developers'/designers' notes from JTAS. There are probably a few other goodies, but I'm not looking at it right now. For those of you still on the fence, I'll answer any additional questions I can...

The cover pic show one of the Imperial Lines. Are all three included?

Also, can you tell if the errata have been included?

Errata for Players Guide, Referee's Manual and Imperial Encyclopedia are included as an .RTF file (dated 10/1/88) on the CD. The scans are uncorrected straight scans of the 1987 (1st?) edition. Haven't compared others, but I would assume that they are just like your original physical copies--warts & all!

Hard Times has some text in dark boxes, so the scan comes out as nearly solid black.

Astrogators' Guide to the Diaspora sector has some pages upside down.

I'm glad I have the deadtree versions!

I got mine this morning

Good news - the Referee's Manual is the second printing and so has some errata corrected, and the Imperial Encyclopedia is third printing so it doesn't need much fixing either.

Now the bad news :(

The Player's Manual is first printing, and mine is missing pages 63 and 64
This is most odd, especially since the drivethru freebie a while back was a third printing.

These ommisions are most disheartening. There was plenty of time to do this right. I only hope if there is a second release/edition that these can be fixed. As was this product not touted to be errata free. I know that I am grumbling but I was really looking forward to getting something that I did not have any second thoughts about.
