CDRom Project News

I'm just saying, if there is an EXE driven interface, it excludes macs and many linux users, and means more bloat on the PDA.

If it includes an HTML based interface, that means at least two programs.

If it includes an autorun launcher with a PDF Menu with extern links, that can be set to run on both Mac and Wintel, and is one command line away for linux, unix, OS2, and several others, and is all within a single running program.

Ah, well, in most cases like this (e.g. the Dragon mag archive), I just ignore any EXE. The only front-end I need is a search engine, & I'll index the files myself so I can use any search engine I want.

No need to get fancy. Just give us the files in a usable & open format.

PDF, as is, is NOT always a grep-able format. (It often isn't.) PDF is the most likely format.

Claire: The best bits of MT are, sadly, not going to be on it... namely, DGP's 101 vehicles, SSOM, V&V, S&A, and WBH.

Those, well, if Dipsh*t, I mean RSanger, had a clue, he'd be negotiating with a current holder of print rights (FFE, QLI, and/or SJG) to do an (E-)reprint through them...

Heck, I'm certain that if RS had PDF's of SSOM and the 2 AM's released by FFE, and each took $2, that's still a dollar to the host.

I offered to do just that for him. He turned me down.

You found him? I'd love to try and talk some sense into him... Heck, give him my email....

To be honest, aside form his chronic failure to get things done, and complete nearsightedness WRT the DGP stuff, he seems all right.
