Six days before my birthday.....

But I still have alot of questions concerning scan quality, OCR quality etc.,

Does anyone know of a way to get some answers other than just forking out the cash and hoping for the best?

The cards, at least on the site, look kind of cool. Are these cards supposed to be part of a new game system? Or is it just a "Cool Promotional Device"?

It makes me wonder if a card based system would have held the wolves at bay if it had been published in the 90s...

I got a closer look at the cards and ship guide. They're nicely done, using something like Flaming Pear's fractal world gen. Pretty. The back is packed with lots of crunchy info. And the world cards plus personality cards would be a perfect way to indoctrinate -- er, introduce -- newbies to the OTU.

From what I hear, they're intended to be promo, but I imagine if there's lots of raving about them, well, anything could happen. Can you say "a deck of Interesting People and Places of the Third Imperium"?

The ship guide is pretty cool. You can see the jump tug, Zhodani scout, and a couple of new Imperial designs like the Packet. The new Impie craft look right at home next to the old standbys.

Am I being stupid or is it now virtually impossible to tell what is on the CD - the thumbnails of the books are only easy to spot if you know what they are already.

It says the 12 canon books which I'm sure I can deduce, but what is the stuff along the bottom right?
