Cosmic Gamer is in the process of rolling a new character, I believe, please advise me of this character's role and skills, as I was out of that loop.

If you have MegaTraveller, rolling on Basic Chargen for the Navy will give you lots of skill chances:

Initial term = 2 skills

each survival = +1 skill
commission = +1 skill (roll 10+)
each promotion = +1 skill (roll 8+) or +2 skills (roll 12)
each special duty= +1 skill (roll 5+) or +2 skills (roll 9)

and if you roll all of these skills on the Navy Service Skills Table, then 1 in 6 should be 'Space Cbt', the cascade that lets you pick 'Gunnery'.

Just offering a suggestion on increasing the odds of getting a specific skill.
