Best Mechanics + Favorite Setting

MT is great... I'm sad to see it languishing. If I thought QLI would be interested, I'd consider writing an MT GRIP module. If I do write a module for the public's use, it'll certainly have MT stats available for it (even if it can be used with other systems too).
I feel the same way. I have given some thought to writing a MT adventure, but am uncertain how it would be received. I might just do it and see where it goes. If it goes nowhere, at least I have another adventure to run online.

A cleaned up MT, with a simpler VDS, and no HG-combat-system, I think could really be a great T5.

I use CT with (slight) borrowing from Striker and with a Task System that is a bit similar to MT and my own "hybrid" chargen; However it isn't truely MT, just CT with a few grafts. I have my own TU (The Solar Triumvirate); I also intend to run a campaign using a virus-less Post-Hard-Times setting (set in 1138 in the former Solomani Sphere).

Hard Times is IMHO the best compromise between using the OTU (with all its useful and ready publish material) and having an ATU without the Imperium's big problems (too big, no frontiers, too "tidy"). Its my favorite OTU era.

While MT was my favorite system, T20 is the system that gets me players and has kept me gaming Traveller over the last three years. Before T20, I never got the chance to run a Traveller campaign, so I'd have to stick with T20.

For settings, I'm working on an ATU of my own design at the moment. However, not having played it yet, I can't say it's my favorite. Were I to choose a favorite, I think I would have to say 1248, because it gives me the things I want out of the Traveller game within the OTU (use of the history, small polities, room for expansion, tons of adventure ideas, and lots of undefined territories and no constraining future history so I can do with it whatever I want.)

In the end, though, I think an ATU might end up being my favorite setting.

Hope this helps,
Flynn

Were still playing MT as the rules base for my 1248 campaign - I have to say there are some illogicalities (?) in the game. I for one would have made the damage/penetration nexus a bit simpler or at lease presented it more cogently. I would have also put in a more basic ship combat system. But aside from that the task system pretty much covers actual gaming perfectly.
