life support question

I don't have the final PDF or book yet, so I'm working from a penultimate draft. On page 344, the copy I have reads that 10 people for 30 days is 1ton and 1MCr. Did that change in the final copy?

Also wasn't entirely sure how to read Luxury vs. Standard. With this setup, does luxury add on to the capabilities of the life support, or "extend it" for another set? For example, if we wanted to support adaptable for all potential sophonts on the trader, would that still be (10) with an additional cost of 1Mcr, or do we figure the number of adaptable sophonts as a totally separate set?

Why is luxury for 1 week and standard for 2 weeks? Is that 10luxury+10std for two weeks, and then after a week, all the luxury folks are breathing fumes?

I'll re-check, but you might be right about standard Life Support.

I assumed that Luxury life support is standard-of-living style support, supplementing regular life support. It's scented bath salts. HOWEVER I will have to double-check to see if that's in the book.

Oh crap, Zombies on Board!

I thought we had outlawed the Zombie Bath Salts drug? :p

Seriously, I thought that Luxury Life Support was things like you said scented bath salts, stateroom aromatics, and of course high end foodstuffs. Standard folks get Salisbury Steaks (soy-steaks for the vegans or K'kree) while the Luxury folks get real beef tenderloin with asparagus hollandaise.

Standard IS 30 days for 10 people. I don't find any explanation of Luxury Life Support, except that it is required for High Passage staterooms. HOWEVER, I note that there is no "number of days" in the Luxury entry, implying that it is, indeed, durable materials or equipment, rather than food and air scrubbers.

So, juicers and hair dryers, a microwave, mini fridge, Keurig coffee maker, etc.

OP updated.
