The dewclaw works however the GM needs it to, to make sense for his players.
well said sir. I do hope this isnt an argument but rather a friendly debate between myself and persons I have the uptmost respect for.
I prefer my Aslan to be large fierce honor driven warriors derived from a pouncer that closely resembles a terran lion. thats how it is imtu.
As a side note IMTU the Aslan are at war pretty much constantly with all of their neighbors and even with each other as clans push outward or settle vendetta amongst their own kind over matters of honor or to gain more territory.
The Aslan are involved in a three way war with solomani and the 3rd imperium in the reavers deep sector, every planet is a potential battlezone and traders and mercs will find ample opertunities to make a few creds be it fighting the raiding aslan clan fleets, putting down inserrections on an imperial world for the emperor, or supplying or leading inserrections for the solomani.
added to this mess are a half dozen pocket empires, client states and independant worlds who also get involved in wars and trade as well as the Mega corps from sol and 3rd Imp. I picture reavers deep as a true frontier with numerous invaders pushing against one another for supremacy.
In combat I see the Aslan as a blend between the preditor<from the movie> and a spartan soldier, they have high tech gear, they use combat armor, they favor killing their enemy face to face, and they never surrender nor show fear. An Aslan warrior will always fight to the death if retreat is not an option. Aslan soldiers are generally the equal of anything the humans in the area can field. Aslan favor combat at night and field a high number of infiltrators and special operations troops to disrupt and destroy enemy command and control.
In space Aslan IMTU favor big ships and swarms of fighters. fighters allow for a sence of the duel and personal honor is gained from red misting an enemy ship while larger ships are viewed as a neccesity.
