Anyone else burning with anticipation for the Darrian Book??

Gentlemen, might I suggest we end this discussion train.
Sure, go ahead. Feel free.

You both just expressed your own personal opinions, neither of which are invalid.
Since the two statements are mutually contradictory, at least one of them must be invalid.

Also, I don't really consider "The pre-Rebellion OTU is perfectly suitable for running exciting adventures" to be just an opinion.

But all that is left to discuss is how one's opinion is right an the other's is wrong.
What's your opinion? Is it impossible to set exciting adventures in the pre-Rebellion OTU?

So can we get back to discussing the Darrians book?
Excellent idea. Why don't you have a go? I've said what I had to say for the moment. That could change any moment if someone expresses an interesting opinion, of course.

To be honest, I hoped you would contribute to the Foreven thread I recently started. Specifically, I saw this thread (and it wasn't the first time I saw a thread like this on these forums) and decided I wanted to stem this kind of a thread from the very beginning. So I would appreciate it if you gave me your thoughts on that.

To your question, I don't have a point of comparison. I've only ever played in 1105 OTU, Mongoose edition. As to the Darrians book, it sounds good, but I would rather wait and see the final before passing judgement.

Blue Darrians

It is a morale and scientific imperative.

If Darrians can interbreed with Solomani ( canon truth already accepted ), then it can be shown that blue darrians should exist, even if in limited numbers. Even if rare, they should exist complete with possible examples of discrimination against them and thus possible folklore concerning them, true and untrue.

If they can't exist in canon, then it would have to be based on an assumption that Darrian and Solomani blood chemistry are different enough that viable interbreeding might not be possible. Such a thing would have to assume different genetic information concerning blood chemistry.

Therefore, Blue Darrians MUST be included in canon.

Looks like over at Mongoose they are trying to get things right! :) You have to give accolades to them when a publishing company puts $ on hold in an attempt to correct things for fans.
Color me impressed.

And that was not meant as sarcasm.

Make it green. (Green is supposed to be the colour of hope
[*] ;)).

[*] At least there's a Danish proverb to that effect. I don't know if there's something similar in English?
Hans

"The color of hope is not always the sign of goodness."

Bonus points for anyone who gets the reference.

I posted this question in the "Blue Darrian" thread in another section of this forum, but I guess I'm kind of curious as to how people assumed that Mongoose Traveller was going to have "white Darrians"? Okay, we only have the preview in their PDF magazine, Signs & Portents #82, but that preview shows that they like the other OTU references have golden skin, light to white hair and so forth. (I linked that issue and a small quote from the article in it in the Blue Darrian, like or dislike thread/poll as an aside).

Just curious is all, someone early in the Blue Darrian thread implied that MongTrav's Darrians were going to be white, not the expected golden color.

(As an aside, the Blue Darrian thread is based on someone's else's Darrians I think, not OTU ones, although it also has a poll asking if they should be in OTU if memory serves, I'd have to read the OP in the thread to recall properly. So don't panic when you see Blue Darrian either. :) )

Also, when will this book come out? I saw on the Mongoose forums that it was delayed now. I know of course that the answer for now might be "when it's done". :)

I dunno, but I am keeping my fat mouth shut about the books I wanna see soon. Both books that I reallllly want to get my sweaty little paws on are delayed until whenever.
