Using The Traveller Book, pp33-48 or so.
Movement in 25m increments on a line grid, and marking out the range bands (both CT and T5 have these).
STATUS (TTB p35) Beginning each round, each player gives his character's status:
- "Evade" adds 2D to attack difficulty.
- "Close/Open Range" (running brings Endurance Points into the rules).
- "Stand"
- Taking Cover. If he's behind a solid object capable of protecting a target against attack, then he can't be attacked unless he makes an attack that round. Then, attacks against him are at +2D difficulty. (p45)
- Stealth. If he's able to conceal himself, then an average Stealth task success means he can't be attacked. On a Stealth failure, attacks against him are at +1D difficulty. (p45)
ATTACK
Attack Task: Range dice (minimum 2D) < C+S - Weapon Burden. In CT, Burden was approximated on a weapon type basis and created an advantageous or disavdantageous attack DM.
- Drawing a firearm increases difficulty by 1D. (p43)
- Thrown blades are a 3D task. (p43)
Parrying a Blade Attack (p37): character uses C+S as a negative DM to the attacker's task.
Machine Guns and Assault, Battle, Combat weapons use Full Automatic Fire: they make two attacks against the same target, plus the group hit rule applies: +1D difficulty to hit up to two adjacent targets.
Shotguns attack three adjacent Size 5 individuals, or six adjacent Size 4 animals. -1D difficulty against flying creatures.
Reloading happens automatically when the character evades or takes cover without attacking. (p48)
ARMOR
Of course, CT uses armor as a DM against pen only, and that varies broadly based on weapon type and armor type. That does not map to T5, and so T5 armor keeps its own pen and damage-soak rules.
