Aborted Jump

Gracias, people. I just wanted to know the "canon" explanation of what happened. Frankly, I think it makes for a bit more excitement when your Engineer is forced to cobble together something to hold the only thing in place between you and raw continuum.

The idea being also is that it is a deliberate act of sabotage, intended to throw the party about 16 parsecs out of range of where they have to be.

Look thru canon and see if there are any "jump bombs" listed that are to detonate in jumpspace (not normal space). If there are, then see if it's designed to "vaporize the ship" or just blow up the jump drive, which means it can't return.

I had thought there was an adventure mentioned someplace where such a "jump bomb" was detonated, but AFTER the ship re-emerged into normal space...

...but it might not be a canon source.

Oh... I don't worry about canon. I just wanted to see if I was going to fly in the face of something.
