3000 Ton Command Carrier

Jame

SOC-14 5K
Yet another in the Book 2 design series - coming up is a Type-T variant and something to fit a deckplan flykiller gave me.
-------------------------------------------------
3000 tons. Jump-3, 3G. 930 tons fuel. Model/6. 125 staterooms. 30 hardpoints (10 triple pulse lasers, 5 triple beam lasers, 10 triple missile racks, 5 triple sandcasters). 72 fighters, 3 cutters (3 ATV modules, 3 fuel modules, 3 open modules), 3 ATVs, 3 air/rafts. Streamlined. 247 crew (including troops and pilots). 46 tons cargo. MCR 2393.07; 34 months.

This class* is one of three which can act as command cruisers (one other has one wing of fighters, the other has none; both have more troops). It provides both COACC and ground support as well as fleet command duties.

*Someone name this class!

Ten ton figher - dual laser mount with a pair of detachable missile cannisters. Gives it that extra punch. My rule for fighters is that a fighter can mount external missile racks in the form of these cannisters, although I haven't really put much thought into these...

How about "Suzerain Class", with each named ship being a different leader type?
Examples could include:
CC Caesar
CC King
CC Konig
CC Kaiser
CC Tsar etc.

grrrrrr ... figures a Brit would come up with a decent name scheme. ;)

If the ships are Terran, you could use cavalry commanders, later shifted to air commanders:
CC Belisarius
CC Tamerlane
CC Von Richtoffen
CC Mitchell
CC Tedder

If Jame is using first edition LBB2 to design his ships then the drives are rated as letter code Y.

The drive potential table changed between first and second edition CT ;)

Our current US Navy command ships are the USS Blue Ridge and the USS Mount Whitney. They are originally command ships for brown water ops (amphib ops), so they have a LCC designation.

I know, terribly unoriginal as far as names go. But, all the good schemes are taken by carriers (dead presidents), amphibious carriers (famous battles), and various and sundry frigates, destroyers, and such (famous dead military heroes). Even subs get named after cities and states, mostly:P (OK, one not quite dead president, too).

Good to know, though my question is more to get Jame to actually list the letter designations for ALL of his designs, because B2 designs are useless without them under B2 combat rules.

This is edited to add 12 more fighters, thereby bringing it up to the full two wings I'd originally planned (dunno how THAT slipped by  ) and changed the price and cargo accordingly.

And this is the Nebula class, because I was thinking of the Nebulon-B class frigate from Star Wars (that's the medical frigate from the end of The Empire Strikes Back). The ships themselves are named after famous cruisers in history, but the air wings are often named after famous air or cavalry (that includes air cavalry too) commanders.

The Consortium commissions Two of the class for MCr 5000 for both.
What are the fighters like in flight performance?

Is it possible to order an Electronic Warfare Pod for one of the cutters, so it could serve as a Forward Observer/Tactical Boat?

As an addtional trade possibility, we offer four examples of our new Xjavelin Communications System. Bear in mind that the Xjavelin's cargo tonnage is usually taken up by massive record banks, and that the Tender carries 5 Xjavelins internally in a 500+ ton bay, while being able to store more (beyond the addtional 5 externally mounted xjavelins) attached to its dispersed hull.
