2320AD: What I would like to do

Personally, I lack the resources to purchase 2320AD outright from Hunter, and likely even to license it for cash from Marc. That being said, this is what I would like to do if Hunter is not able to release 2320AD.

Licensing- Make an arrangement with Marc to license 2300/2320AD, using 2320AD as a sort of "sweat equity", for Marc getting a share of any sales.

Make an arrangement with Hunter to pay him and the artists (50/50) from any sales until both are paid out. I would take nothing from 2320AD sales until everyone is paid out.

Make 2320AD available as both a pdf and a Print-On-Demand (POD) book. Both for a discount. Possibley through ComStar, I don't know.

Produce adventures/supplements dual-stted for both 2300AD and for 2320AD. This is where I would get paid.

Sell Cafe Press items/posters. Most off this to go to artists involved.

Possibly rewrite portions of 2320AD to make it more of a D20 Future-related product, as the Traveller Handbook is hard to get these days. This would also likely drive sales better.

i agree. I'm sending you a PM. Marc is quite amiable (you probably know this) as I approached him a few years ago to do 2300AD reprints.

Marc may be having trouble with his email, or something, as I've sent him several inquiries, to several different adresses. Maybe his system has my work ISP blacklisted, or something... (edit: I've managed to get ahold of him. Stay tuned.)

This sounds like a positive direction to try. I have no doubts whatsover that you'll get the pre-orders you'll need to make it work.

I'm sure I speak for all the Moot members & playtesters involved when I say that we'll help out however we can to make this happen.

I support this move fully. Especially that final part regarding D20 Future. If it isn't dead already, QLI is at least dying whereas WotC doesn't look like it's going anywhere.

This may also be the time to look into that Fuzion version you've been talking about.

If there is anything we fans can do, let us know.

Now this is an idea with some meat on it! :D

Could'nt agree more with almost everything thats been said here. Not sure about the fuzion version idea. I'd love a BRP version but if you go down that road, you'll find it hard to please everyone. Keep the history/design etc the same (so we can FEEL like its 2300AD) but just have the d20 rule set attached. Dual rule sets work...just ask chaosium.

I really enjoyed playing the 2300 system when it first came out, and its universe had a terrific feel. The Kafers were a great antagonist and were truly alien, rather than being humans with funny-looking foreheads. I was really looking forward to the new incarnation when I first heard of it. Before I started reading this forum, the staff of Warp One were probably getting sick and tired of my monthly questions: “Is 2320 in yet? Is it in yet?” :)

I never joined the Moot to see the playtest files – partially because of my lack of experience as a playtester, but primarily so as not to spoil any surprises when I finally read and played the final result. But from reading the forums, the glimpses of the direction where Colin has moved the universe forward have filled me with excitement and awe. Best wishes for whatever Colin is able to achieve. It would be a terrible shame if 2320, in whichever game system incarnation, did not see the light of day.

Personally I love the 2300 setting. I use it on occasion with CT rules.

I do not care for D20 overly much but would probably by source books just for the fluff.
