Year's End

This year as every year is coming to an end...
and again, I wonder, what about a special Christmas and/or New Year topic for my Traveller group?

To explain : Througout the last years I developed a habit to run a christmas or New Year's special theme adventure for my roleplaying groups, e.g. meeting this strange red-hooded guy over the roofs of a major city...

This year it's the first year's end I'm facing having a running Traveller campaign on hand. And so I'm pondering some Ideas.

'What about this special passenger? This red-clothed guy who stand there with something that looks like a sled, muttering something about reindeers and quarantine and want's to charter the PCs ship for a special ride?

'Or what about that well-to-do patron, who wants to impress his future bride with some gigantic orbital fireworks, only the IN doesn't seem to be that much impressed with the idea and so the PCs probably could... - couldn't they?

And what about you? Any ideas or inspirations for a special-theme plot? Or do you just think the
idea is nuts?

I would be grateful for some comments or input...

How about an assasination attempt on the jolly old fella and his midget Daryen staff?

The PCs are involved in one of three ways:

• They are hired to do the hit.</font>
• They are hired to protect the client and neutralize the opposition.</font>
• They get caught in the middle.</font>

The assasination theme is similar to a running story line in the the comic strip Sluggy Freelance.
For a New Years theme adventure:

The PCs thru rewards, good connections, or a job are able to get passage on a well know liner for it's Holiday/New Years Cruise. This is a definite A-List, Black Tie & Formal affair that is a rage thru out the sector. Each year there is somekind of theme to the cruise.

This year is a 1920's/1930's AD era custome theme. To make things a little exciting, one or two Agatha Christie style LARPG mysteries will be staged. This can include Murder on the Orient Express, Death on the Nile, or an original inspiration of theft, murder, and blackmail.

Unfortunately the real things happens.
