Worlds of the Geonee Cultural Region?

Two are stated in Travellers' Digest #11: Shiwonee (Massilia 1430) and Lagna (1029).

I infer others based on naming: Hiponee (1027), Dreva (1028), Stenardee (1130), Ashavakuna (1131), and Prindee (1330). I'm vague about Rigaal (0928) because that double-a has a Vilani feel to it.

So that gives us seven?

It's the clues from TD#11.

It says that all 8 worlds have asteroid belts.
* When one looks up the subsector, there are only 11 of the 24 worlds with asteroid belts.
* By inference and original research, one can deduce (...make an educated guess) which 8 they are.

How about Forquee (1719)? It's a bit distant, but HIWG materials point at it. Carlos Alos-Ferrer thought it fit.

Forquee (1719) has no asteroid belt.

The flavor text infers that all of the worlds had asteroid belts left from Grandfather blasting up his foes.

Great idea. Doesn't fit all the clues, which are admittedly fictional.

Plus Forquee is not in Shiwonee subsector.

Perhaps. But that would point to replacement of the Geonee population by Vilani, and thus not being one of the eight. And unfortunately Forquee (1719) has no planetoid belts.

It could be a Geonee colony anyway; the GURPS materials indicate they have colonies over all of Imperial space.

Found a reference that Liaw (2017) has a quarter of the population as Geonee. Not the eighth world, but a reference to other populations.

And something not saved in the Wayback Machine called the Geonee Online Sourcebook.

*** Isn't coexistence possible? Couldn't Geonee exist alongside later Vilani conquerors or allies? ***

GT Humaniti has some bits, including the bad news that only three of their "core" worlds survived the Long Night: Shiwonee, Lagna, and Hiponee. Dreva was recolonized following a nasty war on Hiponee sometime after -150. The Duchy of Shiwonee was established by Arbellatra in 625, and the present section indicates that the Duchy has ten worlds, including Tsalov and Llyrn.

It does also mention that other colonies survived elsewhere in the Imperium, coming out of the woodwork after the formation of the Duchy.

Found the Geonee Online Sourcebook. The eighth system is Tlasov (1328) according to this source.

Couldn't Geonee exist alongside later Vilani conquerors or allies?

From the hints in GT Humaniti, some did, but not the Geonee core worlds. The Geonee, Suerrat, and Vilani ruled what is now the Imperial core as three rivals in rough parity. Some of the far flung colonies of the Geonee didn't retreat before the Vilani Consolidation Wars and ended up isolated. This is likely a side effect of it being a J1 era with only one power having J2. The core region is really big and full of lost corner when J2 is all you have.

From that rough parity, and a large pool of late comers with second hand jump drives, the Vilani emerged victorious after a thousand years of war and got to write the history books and invent the terms "Major Race" and "Minor Race". While the Suerrat apparently got buffaloed early and kept a lot of territory by simply folding, the Geonee pride apparently kept them fighting until they were bottled up in their core worlds.

Dollars to donuts a Space Wreck encounter table for the Imperial core region is going to include a significant number of ancient Geonee hulks.

New theory about Rigaal (0928):

It is occupied by the Geonee, but after the Consolidation Wars is colonized and stripped of resources. The Vilani abandon the world during the Long Night, but the Geonee occupy it after they form the Confederation, but before the Confederation joins the Third Imperium.

I'm working on a master timeline to make everything easier to swallow.
