Working Passage (CT+ PBEM)

Announcing the resurrection of Working Passage.

This PBEM is run using CT+ rules.

It takes place along the Spinward Main, circa 1100 or so. The Classic Era with the Classic worlds.

The concept of working passage is to allow players to drop in and out of the game fairly easily, and even frequently, as life requires from them. Player rotation is therefore the rule rather than the exception -- though all may remain on board for as long as desired.

Interesting, but where were you planning to run it? (real world wise)

On COTI? Strictly by e-mail? On web forum?

I'd like to see the Regina subsector.

Will the ship be passing through there?

(I've never been there before... but it might be nice to check the place out before I take my players there.)

Joel's Megatraveller.com (or was that.com.au? I always forget) has reasonable forums too. Right now, I'm in a game hosted on playbyweb.com with some other folks from COTI. Just to offer you some options.

Were you planning it as a sort of T5 playtest and were you planning to provide feedback? If so, wouldn't using the current playtest data be more to the point? (Just curious)

Actually, it's less of playtest and more of just fun. I didn't have any plans for feedback... in fact, I was hoping it would be something that would just ramble a bit.

I was thinking of using the old T5 chargen because I understand it better than anything other than CT, and CT just feels a little lean. Although there's nothing wrong with that.

Yes Jeffr0, I was thinking of the Regina and Rhylanor subsectors in particular.

if you need deckplans I have a pair of cargo/passenger haulers. 400 dtons J2/M2 crew of eight, and 1000 dtons J3or4/M3or1 crew of fifteen. plenty of room for passengers too if anyone wants to take such a role.

Any room for a crack Hiver Engineer? M.Franklin, a native of Zeldar (Spica Sector) is on Regina now, after being hired on to the Fat Trader "Randy Robin" bound for Arden. Since the Captain so far has been a no-show, I can only assume he's out a job... and a LONG way from home...

(He's generated using the CT Hiver book, BTW)

I would be interested as well. I can generate using CT rules or will need a copy of the T5 draft you mention. I would like to generate a Vargr character.

After consulting with the Captain, I've decided to allow MT chargen for characters; it provides a depth that basic CT lacks, and is familiar to many Travellers.

CT and T5 characters are still fine; CT characters may be granted additional skills, and T5 characters will likely have skills, erm, adjusted somewhat.

Unless they completely lock out the forum, it'll be readable by anyone.

That's how it works. The forum is world-readable, and I've added a 'Random Static' area for universal posting.

So far, the exiting engineer, the new engineer (a Hiver), the new medic, the new pilot, the steward, and the Captain have registered. The engineers and medic are making introductions in the concourse of Luck Gibson Down on Regina, waiting for Captain to show up.

The captain is probably consulting with a local factor. The steward is probably overseeing the loading of cargo and passengers. The pilot and new astrogator (a Vargr) are probably en route to the starport.

Got almost no spare time? Want to play a bit part in a PBEM, just to see what it's like without getting involved? Would you like your favorite player character to make a guest appearance?

Then consider booking passage aboard the Sharukkannik. I'd prefer normal passengers, but I'm willing to consider quirky characters too.
