Wafer tech

I admit it - I love Marc's novel. I love it so much I have been mining T5 again.

The wafer chapter has me wondering if there are more rules for wafers on the cutting room floor?

In T5 a wafer personality lasts seven days, in the novel it is a month.

Are the chips used for the agents duplicatable using the T5 rules?

Some personalities can "stick" and become permanent.

There's also mention in several places that the computer screens the personnel records to select the best possible match to choose a volunteer from. Maybe a better match means a longer window of use?

Maybe its a higher TL version that has better QREBS?

Maybe its Marc using Author/Ref prerogative to make it longer for plot purposes.

Actually seven days in a universe where jump lasts a week might cause problems to the utility of wafers. maybe a change is coming for T5.1?

Can't be higher TL, since the wafer technology is assumed to be around TL13, or even TL12.

Better QREBS I can believe, since Quality maps to operational Period.

I'm also thinking better QREBS but I can also see Marc tweaking the Wafer rules for T5.1 having explored the practicalities in the novel.

I have noticed that T5 lacks TL descriptors in the robots section. In the wafers section there is no mention of what wafers are capable of at higher TLs or as more advanced models.
