I'm working on building a number of vehicles, updating the Traveller's Aide vehicle guides with T5 designs.
I've started by using the online Vehicle Maker, but after double checking my results I found errors in the builder.
Specifically, I'm building a "Enclosed Early Lt Wheeled Passenger Car".
The builder calculates a TL:4, but according to the tables, the TL should be 6 (wheeled) -1 (light) -1 (early) -1 (enclosed) = 3.
The builder calculates the Quality: 6, but I think it should be 5 + 6 (wheeled TL) - 3 (vehicle TL) = 8, or 7 if my vehicle TL calculation is wrong.
The builder calculates load: 0.5. I'm not sure how adding and subtracting integers ends up with a fraction. I get a load of 1 (Car) -1 (Light) = 0
Finally builder calculates cost: KCr: 50. My calculation is (20 (Car) + 10 (passenger) ) * 0.5 (light) + 10 (Early) = KCr25
This is where my potential errata comes into play. Because the costs for different sections are either added or multiplied, the specific order of operations can change the cost of a vehicle, in some cases in drastically. Based upon the vehicle fillform (p.302), the order of operations is the order of selection. But this doesn't make it easy to add new vehicle options. This also applies to the vehicle size (in tons) for the same reason.
At minimum, it would be helpful if the text explained (and example given) of the order for calculating a vehicle cost.
