Vehicle Armour Values

Let's see if I can perevohd b poangliski...

If you don't have players shooting at anything but people and starships, the x10 hits erratum to the Ref's manual is meaningless.

If you don't use it, a lucky hit with a small-arms weapon can take out a Trepida Gravitic Main Battle Tank.

If you do use the x10 from what's listed in Ref's Manual, you have to have pretty big guns to do that damage to the tank.

Y'see, all the vehicle sections have separate hits entries; by using the x10 before rounding off, instead of the PP of a trepida having 1toKO and 2moreToDestroy (1/2), it gets 9toKO and 18moreToDestroy... so the 0-3 point minimum for rolling well can't take out the trepida in one lucky shot to the powerplant.

No Powerplant, and the trepida is no longer a turret in the sky, but a piece of deadfall ordinance.

Aramis thanks for the translation, but I still have a few clarifications required;

The Trepida has powerplant has a listed 1/2, and yes as you say this is 1 hit to knock out and 2 more hits to destroy. How do you get from 1/2 to the score of 9/10 (I know this includes the x10 rule but just how?).

And a further question is how do I convert this to a Life Force. The reason is that I prefer rolling all those d6 for damage, not just saying that grenade was worth 3 hits or whatever.

Thanks for bearing with me :cool:

Because I'm going to the design stats, and applying the x10 before doing the rounding. (The trepida's PP figures as about 0.9 hits, and gets rounded up to 1. If I remember correctly, that is.)

0.9: 1/2
0.9x10: 9/18
