Thought you might get a kick out of this.
I hope everyone gets to see it.

No ... dogs are more advanced (evolutionary speaking).Vargr are not dogs.
On the other hand, both onions and grapes are poisonous to dogs but things humans can consume. So, one would have to know what Vargr can and can't eat in that regard.I do not see why Vargr would not eat pineapples. Dogs consume a fair amount of grain, fruit, and vegetable food. Most dogs that I know of love carrots.
Yup, really.Really?
... and their accelerated evolution began. Selective Breeding IS "accelerated evolution".Dogs were selectively bred from wolves by humans. Their natural evolution stopped when we started choosing.
Quoting facts not in evidence ... there is no record of ongoing evolution of Traveller sentient species (Human or Vargr or Aslan or Hiver) and "Dogs" would have continued to evolve into the "Far Future" alongside any uplifted ancient prehistoric wolves.Vargr were uplifted from wolves 300,000 years ago and have evolved from those original Vargr uplifts.
You would be half right. Vargr are probably more Technologically advanced (I am unsure of any OFFICIAL position on uplifted DOGS in Traveller), but DOGS still have a greater "evolutionary history" as evidenced by the far greater diversity of subspecies (breeds) of Dogs compared to Vargr.I would say the Vargr have a greater evolutionary history and are way more advanced.
My point is that different species have different food requirements. What's food to one species might well be poison to another. One grape to a dog is potentially sufficient to cause kidney failure.Vargr are not dogs. Some Vargr may even be lactose tolerant, like some evolved humans.
No, not at all.Yup, really.
So now you are changing words and definitions, fair enough... and their accelerated evolution began. Selective Breeding IS "accelerated evolution".
You mean apart for the Zhodani... I'll give you a few moments to go and read about the evolutionary history of the Zhodani.Quoting facts not in evidence ... there is no record of ongoing evolution of Traveller sentient species (Human or Vargr or Aslan or Hiver) and "Dogs" would have continued to evolve into the "Far Future" alongside any uplifted ancient prehistoric wolves.
Do you accept the canonicity of Vilani and Vargr and or other DGP products? You would be half right. Vargr are probably more Technologically advanced (I am unsure of any OFFICIAL position on uplifted DOGS in Traveller), but DOGS still have a greater "evolutionary history" as evidenced by the far greater diversity of subspecies (breeds) of Dogs compared to Vargr.

Yup, at all.No, not at all.
That is not how citations work. "I have a fact and you can go search through all published data to find it" is not a citation, so you are STILL stating facts not in evidence. You mean apart for the Zhodani... I'll give you a few moments to go and read about the evolutionary history of the Zhodani.
It is not MY place to rule whether DGP (or any other product) is canon. I am merely as ignorant as I am indifferent to the official position on "uplifted dogs" in the Third Imperium. They could be TL 15 (which would make them more advanced than Vargr) or they could be operating in a TL 4 Steampunk society (making them less technologically advanced than Vargr). So I was willing to concede the POSSIBILITY that Vargr are more technologically advanced than Dogs in the Far Future ... however, barring a mass extinction event, Dogs are more diverse and, therefore, more advanced in evolution (as defined by "Change in the Inherited Traits of a Population through Successive Generations").Do you accept the canonicity of Vilani and Vargr and or other DGP products?
My apologies, I didn't realise you knew nothing of the CT Alien Module Zhodani and yet are willing to make grand claims about canon that you don'e even know. That is not how citations work. "I have a fact and you can go search through all published data to find it" is not a citation, so you are STILL stating facts not in evidence.
You claimed there was no incidence of evolution, I sought to clarify what you would consider to be evidential sources. It is not MY place to rule whether DGP (or any other product) is canon. What are you going to do?You only need to know two things about a Vargr.
Are they a good boi, or a bad boi?
