Vampire fleets

Kpeterson

SOC-10
Hey there.
I've been considering purchasing this product to beef up some Virus "depth" in my bastardized T20/TNE campaign.

Any thumbs-up or thumbs-down on this supplement? Comments?

For Creating a "vampire fleet" (size and basic ship type composition), its decent, as well as a better indepth look at the various "belief systems/creeds of AI Virus, itsa plus.

The three part adventure to Promise/Promise/Diaspora Sector, a dark look at a Virus dominated world to be used as a rule of thumb.

For the best uses, a robot guide for the AI-Virus of dominant basic robots of the former Imperium (janitors/ cargo handlers/ mechanics/ Security bots). This I found most useful.

heretically yours,
(4 of five thumbs up possible)

I highly recommend this book. It gives a great deal more information on Virus and Virus controlled ships as well as complete (if overly complex) construction rules for robots. And the adventure paints a vivid picture of what life on a Virus controlled planet would be like.

Yes,

The adventure is good, robot / vampire rules useful (although a little heavy on multi-kilo tonne imperial cruisers).

You also get a fleeting look into the future, and two mor collapsed subsectors.

Yeah - worth the buy.

Cheers
Richard

Thanks for the input!

I decided to order it from the Traveller Trader last night. From the contents described (generating vampire fleets, and Virus-dominated worlds), it looks like the supplement for me.

My favourite bit is the whole adventure on board The Ship.... He he he... (insert preferred higher force's name) only help the players I finally get to run through it...

*evil chuckle*

An essential (IMNSHO) guide to Virus, helps the GM develope more character and personality to Virus (prob the most important NPC race in a long term TNE Campaign). Gives you lots of ideas about the long term plans/future of the RC vs. Virus.

The adventure is great for a group of players who like lots of intrigue and thinking. Not to mention being VERY tough.

Nice to have Robot design rules (even if rather heavy going)

I'd rate this as the 3rd most important TNE book to own (after Path of Tears and the main rules)and

Definately worth getting. Like most TNE books, the print is a little small (or maybe I'm just getting older), but the content is useful.

This is the book that made me decide Virus had a place in my campaign...

Which Ship? What Ship? Who are calling the Ship? I AM THE SHIP!

Yes, the virus allowed great roles for schizophrenia computers. When I ran Vampire Fleets, I ran it really dark with the emphasis of the RC not really knowing what a vampire dominated world would be like... For Promise was TL F and the RC only had a glimmering what that civilization was truly like...especially, if you forbid remanants as PCs...

Aye, and deck plans and TNE stats fer a 3ktn Midu Agashaam class DD are good things to have.
(dinnae get me started on small ships vs big ships!)

Liam Wrote,

deckplans of a Midu 3Ktn destroyer are a good thing to have.

lets face it they are of more use than the destroyer, give me an old Gormandaocy class any day.

Cheers

HMMM, There's the rub...OTU wise, I like the DD-14 Gormandoacy more than Midu's. I second the motion!
