As was proven at Gencon 93 or 94 - they did get that lifeboat off the pebbles in the end, didn't they?

Well the in-shore lifeboat at Rye Harbour (which I assume would be the one called out) is still operating, so it looks like they did.

Need to check out which is the nearest lifeboat station to Bognor and possibly warn them

Definitely a case of taking all the cameras!
