Traveller's Weapons?

Hi,im helping my friend design a list of weapons for a Sci-Fic RPG hes doing, and would like some ideas. So can one of you post the weapons used in the Traveller's universe please? The weapons in question should be usable by normal people(this is like a general weapons list, that everyone can use),for example, laser rifles,as well as heavier weapons that can be mounted on tanks,or turrets for example.Nothing larger than that,so no fighter/bomber/warship weaponry please.

Have you looked in the T20 Lite document that you can download from the Library here? The weapons in there should answer your question. There's also an update somewhere for the T20 version of the personal weapons stats from TA1, which you might also be able to locate in the library and download. I think you can find it here:

Hope this helps,
Flynn

Hi,thanks for your reply.Ive downloaded and read the document, nothing really special(standard pistols, shotguns, etc),but i suspect this isnt the full list.Laser weapons arent even mentioned!Gauss weaponry was surprising, but my friend might not want it as it could be too powerful(i will tell him about it just in case).

What do the T20 and other assorted numbers mean?Version numbers?

May I recommend Peter's Traveller Page. He has a consolidated equipment list for Traveller that is quite complete and includes weapons.

As for the numbers, yes they are like edition or version numbers of our old game.

CT is Classic Traveller, which only became "classic" after the others of course since it was the first.

T20 is the latest incarnation and is a CT translation to d20 mechanics.

There are more (in no particular order)...

MT is Mega Traveller, a consolidation of CT and advanced rules, rife with errata but loved by many despite that.

GT is GURPS Traveller.

T4 aka Marc Miller's Traveller (Marc Miller being the creator) was an attempt to recompile the best of Traveller in a fresh rule's set.

TNE is Traveller "The New Era" was another version.

T5 is the current in development version, by Marc Miller.

And there was also this recent post here:

...where Casey posted a link to a free demo of a new PDF product called "1001 Science Fiction Weapons". The full version is on sale for just $9.00, that's less than a penny a weapon
