Traveller Vehicles

Here's an attempt to port vehicles to T5. I used my VehicleMaker webpage... but note that I will have to check the results against the rules to make sure there's no subtle bugs in my code.

I'm not entirely satisfied with the results, but the exercise has been fruitful.

NOTES

The closest thing to a list I see is in the shipbuilding rules, p344, plus a couple more mentioned on page 349. The Older master text does have a page of my example vehicles on page 277, but it's not comprehensive.

Thanks for posting this Robject...

One question ... in the first paragraph you state that they are all 'Size 5' vehicles ... I thought a typical human was size 5 and vehicles were typically size 6?

That's not a question, it's a correction. My mistake.

Updated.

Thanks for this - it's just what I needed as a starter set. While it's great to have a system for creating new vehicles, guns, worlds, etc., it's also extremely useful for a referee to have a set of specific examples available for the common types.

I remember CT having no published setting (when I got my LBBs), and the ref's first task being to roll up some subsectors and think about what kind of adventures might take place in those worlds. But at least the players could buy a used ATV to get about in.

Now the ref gets to design different sizes of combi, winnebago, or 4x4 with trailer, and then apply QREBS as well. (Nobody would choose to drive the Jacobson Horizon, given its clunky gear-changes and thirsty engine, but the sleeping accommodation is a delight). Given a day's prep, you could run a wonderful session at the used vehicle lot, but maybe that's not the kind of campaign that interests all players...
