Thanks for the kind words, Joshua.
The member-state borders in Magyar and Daibei were developed through the T5SS review. They are canonical, but no published text ever determined exactly which worlds composed each member-state. MegaTraveller's Solomani and Aslan noted that Wu and Chou were part of the Wuan Technology Association, and Tralp was part of the Dootchen Estates, but I think that was it. I assume Don did the legwork here.
As Joshua noted, the Bootean Federation borders were delineated in Imperialines, so they are at least semi-canonical.
The member-states in Aldebaran, Neworld, and Langere are described in Solomani and Aslan. That book had a dotmap of those sectors and a few specific world positions that rarely matched the dotmap. Those sectors and the member-state borders are completely non-canonical, though I tried very hard to construct them using any scrid or scrap of canon I could find or infer.
Alpha Crucis is a canonical sector, having appeared in Atlas of the Imperium and detailed in Mongoose Traveller: Solomani. The sector data was also reviewed by the T5SS.
What makes this sector very interesting is that S&A, set in 1122 in the Rebellion timeline, mentions two important member-states in Alpha Crucis: the Protectorate of Cthonia and the Consolidation of Turin. But the most important source of canon for the sector, MgT:S, is set in 1105 and explicitly does not use member-states as described in S&A.
The author of MgT:S was clearly aware of the earlier source, as MgT:S describes contemporary and historical organizations that are obviously inspired by the S&A states. There is a multiworld organization, the Consolidation of Turin, that clearly maps to the S&A Consolidation. But there is no Protectorate of Cthonia -- instead we have an analog, the Orichalc Regional Defense Association (ORDA). It is not clear what this contradiction means: did MgT:S consciously retcon the Protectorate out of existence? Or did it simply not exist by that name in 1105?
The composition of neither MgT:S organization is explicitly described beyond general location and number of worlds. I suggested the borders of the Consolidation based on the general description and a few references in the text; I also looked at worlds owned by Turin. I do not believe Marc has reviewed or approved that border.
I have hesitated to proffer borders for the Protectorate. But I am beginning to think the map maybe ought to reflect the borders of MgT:S's ORDA.
