Traveller in DC/VA/MD?

Anyone running a Traveller game in the DC metro area and have an opening for a neophyte? My primary experience with Traveller has been T20 but I enjoy learning new systems.

I've played a variety of RPGs: D&D (3rd Ed +), SWRPG (d20, d20RE, SE), Shadowrun (2nd & 3rd), Exalted (1st & 2nd), Traveller D20, BESM, EABA, and a variety of others here and there. I tend to play JoaTs (Jack of all Trades), but am able to specialize as needed for a well rounded group. I'm very much a group player.

My availability times are Friday evenings, Saturday at any time, Sunday at any time. I can work with M-Thu starting around 7pm but would only be available for a couple (2-3) hours a night.

I'm looking forward to hearing from someone as I miss my hard sci-fi gaming :)

Re-post this in the "Recruiting Office" section... that is what that exists for, not this section.

Thanks, Aramis.

Not trying to be a ****, but I do think it will get more response here.

Now, please keep posting Sapphiremagus, we really do welcome you here. :)

Not located in your area, but a currently active play-by-post, you may be interested in playing an NPC in the Free Trader Beowulf 30th anniversary game, which has been moved here:

http://www.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=213934&TabID=1804609

We're currently at ~70% casualties after the beowulf crash-landed (hard) after being pirated, sabotaged and left for dead.

Take a look through the ~80 or so posts in the opening chapter "Ashes": the game updates 3 times a week (MWF) with a fair amount of "behind the scenes" interaction that is starting to make its way onto the forums (for example the Droyne warrior who is currently a roving sniper)

Failing that, there are a couple of forums here for play-by-post and they often accept new players too ;)

No worries, I posted in a hurry because I was at work; didn't notice the Recruiting Office forum in my frantic glance over. Thanks :)

Scott,

Where are the "Ashes" posts?

I just discovered that they are "invisible" unless you're a member.

They are linked from the main page, and you're now granted "member" status.

Once this chapter is complete (which will be once the last PC leaves the hulk of the Beowulf) I'll lock the forum and move it out to the general access forum so that people can see what has happened without needing fancy access permissions.

The direct link is here:

if you can get access to it without needing to log in (please let me know: if folks "outside" the game can't see it, then we may need to look at moving venues (again...)

I just saw this thread. I'm trying to start (need players) a T20 game around D.C. I'm in Mont. County. :)

Send me a PM if you're interested.

Mike

I just found this site and thread. I'm in Mont. Co. and would like to join a Traveller group. I've not played since the original but am sure I could master any of the newer rules.
