We don't have enough information of MT trade rule.:confused:
Please help us.:confused::confused:

I'm sorry my English is not good.;)

//// Original rules ////
Freight consists of paid shipments of goods. Cargo is purchased at the sourceworld and sold at the destination world. Determine the available lots from the table. Roll once in the major column, once in the minor column, and once in the incidental column. For each lot, determine its size by rolling the lot size

AVAILABLE LOTS

Lot Size: Major Cargos:1D + 10 Minor Cargos lD+ 5 Incidental Cargos 1D. Lot size is stated in displacement tons. To convert to kiloliters, multiply by 13.5.
DMs: If destination world Population 0-4, DM-3 If destination world Population 8 +, DM + 1 If any crewmember has Liaison skill, apply it as a + DM on the roll for minor cargos. DM + (sourceworld TL minus destination world TL). If destination world is red zone, there is no freight If destination world is an amber zone, there is no major freight. If the goods are freight (carried for a fee of Cr1000 per ton) and their identity does not matter, ignore further steps. The sum of cargo and freight cannot exceed the cargo hold capacity of the ship.
This table shows the limit of freight available to a ship in a period of one week. A crewmember with Broker skill may consult this table again once (to find last-minute cargo, but not freight).

//////
Page 50, Step 5, Freight and Cargo (correction and clarification): The sentence “If the goods are cargo (carried for a fee of Cr 1,000 per ton...” should read “If the goods are freight (carried for a fee of Cr 1,000 per ton...” Lot size is in displacement tons. To convert to kiloliters, multiply by 13.5. Or, for lot size into kiloliters directly: Major Cargos:150+(1Dx10). Minor Cargos: 80+(1Dx10). Incidental Cargos: 1Dx10.From the note under Step 3, Freight and Cargo are determined separately in Step 5

////// Questions ///

Q1. How many times can we roll on available lots table? Roll twice in the major column for major freight and cargo, twice in the minor column for minor freight and cargo, and twice in the incidental column for incidental column for incidental freight and cargo. Is it right?

Q2 . How determine the freight size?

Q3. Does the destination world population DM apply available lots of cargo? We don’t know in where does the cargo be sold.

Q4. How many times can crewmember with Broker skill roll on available lots table again? Roll once in the major column, once in the minor column, and once in the incidental column. Is it right?

Process
1 know size of population
2 generate cargo available for purchase
2.1 look up roll for number of major lots for cargo and roll it. No DM's.
2.1.1 roll 1d+10 for tonnage for each major lot (IE, if step 2 had 5 major lots, make 5 rolls)
2.2 roll number of minor lots for cargo. DM+Liaison
2.2.1 roll 1d+5 for tonnage of each lot (IE: 3 lots, 3 rolls)
2.3 Roll for number of incedental lots No DM's
2.3.1 roll 1d for tonnage of each incedental lot.
2.4 roll for type for each lot of cargo
3 Purchase cargos from lots available in step 2
4. If destination known, determine frieght lots to destination
4.1 look up roll for number of major lots for freight and roll it. Adjust for destination world.
4.1.1 roll 1d+10 for tonnage for each major lot (IE, if step 2 had 5 major lots, make 5 rolls)
4.2 roll number of minor lots for freight. Adjust for destination world.
4.2.1 roll 1d+5 for tonnage of each lot (IE: 3 lots, 3 rolls)
4.3 Roll for number of incedental lots of freight. Adjust for destination world.
4.3.1 roll 1d for tonnage of each incedental lot.
4.4 determine type of lot for each freight lot available
5 load whichever frieght lots you choose
5.1 receive Cr1000 per ton of freight taken aboard; this will be delivered, not sold.

Cargo should not be modified for destination world.
Number of Minor Cargo lots (but not freight) should be adjusted for Liaison Skill
Freight should have number of lots adjusted for destination world; if you have not announced a destination world, you can not take freight.
Size of lots is never adjusted.

Thank you so much for your useful reply.

I'm gald to see this reply.

How about my Q4?:confused:

Please teach me at once.

4. If destination known, determine frieght lots to destination
Destination is always known. It is decided as soon as the ship arrives at the sourceworld. See step 2, Destination World Details on p. 50.

Freight should have number of lots adjusted for destination world; if you have not announced a destination world, you can not take freight.
This (not having to decide on a destination world by deciding not to carry passengers and freight) is a very reasonable modification of the rules, but it's not what they say.

Hans

Broker is already accounted for; that's what gets you the freight rolls.

We can not unerstand bellow line. We think crewmember with Broker skill may roll twice a week for each column. What is mean that "To find last-minute cargo, but not freight".

A crewmember with Broker skill may consult this table again once (to find last-minute cargo, but not freight).

So, do you think that the destination world population DM apply available lots of cargo?

Not exactly.

Broker makes 1 roll each collum for cargo (stuff to be bought)

At end of week, broker makes 1 roll each column for freight (stuff carried for others).

Why?:confused::confused:
I think "At end of week, broker makes 1 roll column for "cargo(stuff to be bought)"”.
Rule says " not freight".

applying logic to understand why I interpret it the way I do:

During week, he's finding cargo to be bought, negotiating prices, haggling.

Finding freight is a couple hours; in a busy port, shippers don't wait 3-5 days for you to pick up and ship.

Now, also, under CT Bk 7: one set of rolls for cargo, one set for freight, no "last minute", but still same lots available total.

Also, it's better as a game if you have to buy before knowing if you can fill up with freight.

No, only to freight and passengers.

Hans
Agreed. The reason is because freight and passengers, almost by definition, have specific destinations in mind when they're looking for carriage. (You don't go to the airport and THEN decide where you're going based on the available flights, do you?) Cargo, on the other hand, is something that you-as-ship-operator PURCHASE - the supplier no longer cares where it's going; he just wanted someone to pay him money and take it off his hands. Once you purchase it, it's YOUR problem, and you decide where you're going to try to sell it. When you reach your destination world, it's YOUR problem to get rid of it or not; the purchaser doesn't necessarily care where it came from, as long as it's what he wants/needs - and you don't really care about anything but getting it out of your hands and getting money INTO your hands.

(Hans, I know you probably understand this already; just want to make it clear because the evidence is that magmagmag may not.)

(Incidentally - magmagmag, if you're the MAG that has done the artwork that's appeared on my Freelance Traveller web site, I'd be happy to see more of your work submitted to the magazine.)

Thank you very much for a lot of comments:D.
I will discuss about this rule with Japanese player.
