Torus Planet

Lets look at it this way. Suppose in the OTU, we placed a torus world on the map and some Imperium scout ship discovered it. He might have a difficult time putting his scout ship in any sort of close stable orbit. What does he do? When he reports this back at his base how do they take it?

He uses the gravitometer that is part of his Exploration-Branch sensor-payload package, which produces a gravitational field/gradient map of the the spatial volume in question, and has the computer plot an insertion-vector to produce a stable "orbital" trajectory. (Relevant Stat: EDU; Relevant Skill: Pilot; Positive DMs assigned by referee based on sensor equipment).
When he reports this back at his base how do they take it?

They file it as a high-priority find, possibly interdict it for the time being, and send in a team or teams of specialists to survey the object (i.e. PCs).
