They're Still Around

I have been kicking this around for a few days and got real curious. What businesses and/or designs from today survived into your 2300AD/2320AD universe?

Business's of the future

Well their are not really survials, more resurections, but in my campaign two of the minor shipping lines are "Hain Norse" and "Alfred Holt".
Also alot of British military electronics are provided by GEC and Marconi.

Lloyd's of London. And still called that, too. A benchmark of tradition.

Coca-Cola. Just because I like them. They offer a lot of different flavors now. Do not try to drink anything they make for the Vargr unless you are one.

Things that survive:

Siemens Still making extremly costly and sturdy if a bit out-dated electronics, powerplants, lightbulbs, laundry maschines... IMU they are also building the German Laser Rifle

Mauser and Rheinmetall The A9 and SK-19 are Mauser guns IMU and the LuKi's Mass-driver is from Rheinmetall

Things that exist with minor changes:

HDRW Howaltswerke Deutsche Raumwerften. One of the prime German ship-builders (HDW in Space)

BBC Brown, Bowery and Cie, builders of starship powerplants

Krupp without a Thyssen. Heavy maschinery, combat walkers and artillery

I kept the HBC for Canada, Hudson's Bay Company. In the aftermath of the Twilight War, trading posts became all the rage again... Then when civilization got back on its feet, they converted back to retail.

In my previous 2300AD campaign I had WalMart and McDonalds still alive and kicking on the retail side, and General Dynamics on the manufacturing end in America. In Russia I had Gazprom which had become a global energy corporation. In the UK Lloyd's of course, and British Aerospace. There were also lots of companies that encompassed part of some corporation from today.

Greetings and salutations!

I started the thread; therefore, I should contribute to it.

Famous Families:
• British Royal
• Dupont (French)
• Kennedy (American)

Colt Industries: The firearms company managed to remain in business after the Twilight War.
Farmers’ Market: Actually, several of these opened around the world dependent upon people’s need and desire to survive and eat.
John Deere: During and after the Twilight War, people did a lot of farming to feed themselves. People also stopped laughing and calling the Amish primitive. In fact, any crime against the Amish usually incurred severe punishment. Don’t mess with those that provide us with food! *shotguns being pumped in the background*
O. F. Mossberg & Sons Inc.: Looking for a good shotgun?
Red Hat Linux: When computers were brought back online, people who were into computers remembered the Penguin, its reliability, and widespread usage.
Remington Arms Co.: Hunters found it difficult to render “game” edible if it could not be killed immediately.
Smith & Wesson, Inc.: Revolvers did not hold a lot of ammunition, but they were very reliable.
