Well, today we see the sundering of the Solomani Confederation begin. We have the Near Bootes Cluster declaring itself to be "free space", but with some worlds apparently not going along quietly. And there's a former defector to the Imperium in the mix too! And Empress Iolanthe and her warrant are sitting o-so-conveniently on Terra...

The position of SolSec political officers formerly posted to Leonov's fleet is unclear.

Travelling along whatever vector they got when they were shot out the airlocks, I imagine.

Not necessarily. We seem to be seeing a rebellion in progress, but there are multiple possible outcomes, including some that don't involve a sundering of the SolCon, such as:
a) Rebellion is suppressed.
b) Rebellion wins completely and forms a new SolCon government.

Of course, it is important to note that the Solomani Confederation can only really survive if the Rebellion succeeds, not fails.

The fact of the matter is that the current Chairman's government is illegal. He has, with the assistance of SolSec, fundamentally already performed a coup. The Solomani Confederation will cease to exists if the Chairman ultimately succeeds.

(This is independent of whether this new government maintains control of the former Solomani space or not.)

Remember the X-factor in this situation is SolSec. Coordinator Trelevan may use his sources to put down or disrupt the Near Bootes protest and the central government crisis, in the name of protecting the Confederation from itself.

There are "Moderate" factions within the Solomani Confederation which "IF" pushed, will drop SolSec relations and lean toward the Imperium (IMO).
