The Perilous Void by penny lantern

I just got my physical copy of The Perilous Void by Penny Lantern, and it looks really good. For those not in the know, the Penny Lantern team previously did a very well received Fantasy supplement, The Perilous Wilds, which provided tables and systems for generating a Fantasy setting in as much detail as you care to. It was really well structured, and system neutral, and provided a lot of food for thought as to how the wilderness exploration aspect of gaming actually worked. The Perilous Void is a supplement that does the same thing for Science Fiction gaming. It is substantially meatier than The Perilous Wilds (my copy of TPW revised is 75 pages, TPV weighs in at 167), and I see almost no wasted space here. There are tables for generating absolutely everything, down to a reference table with one-line definitions of lifeform adaptations ("Fossorial/burrowing. Specialized anatomy enables digging into substrates for shelter, protection, or hunting.")

I haven't had a chance to read it in depth yet. Has anybody had the chance to really dive into it? If so, how are you using it for Traveller gaming? My group will be going to the Sword Worlds in the near future, and I'm hoping to use the Community Generation Procedure to generate random, quirky, isolated settlements/colonies on various worlds for them to interact with.

Apologies, I thought I'd put the link in my OP. It was a Kickstarter but is now available for general purchase on DTRPG as previously said. My physical rewards from the KS arrived today, is why I was thinking about it. Weirdly, checking the Preview in DTRPG shows you less about it than reading the description.

Largely on the strength of Keny Widjaja's art, I splurged and bought the .pdf.

I was intrigued, but now I am impressed.

A mix of space opera and hard sci fi inspirations. Random generators that also serve me as reminder checklists so I don't leave out some interesting detail I once used and forgot.

Sometimes it's tough to keep things fresh after thirty-five years and this is a good resource to help me do that.

As someone who uses the patron encounters to set up scenarios, 5 parsecs from Home and Across a Thousand Dead Worlds for their random situation goodness, I just have to buy this too

There is at least one youtube review of it which sold me on it.

I bought it based on the strength of The Perilous Wilds. I was not being hyperbolic -- it was a game changer for my fantasy campaign building. I'm very impressed with TPV, and am already finding uses. I like how, even in an established setting like the 3I, there are plenty of elements I can use. Very modular!

I pulled the trigger and bought one. At $20 for the PDF and $30 for a book and PDF, I actually bought my first paper book in a decade. I mean, for an extra $10, what the heck.

I looked up "man in the middle attack" on Wikipedia. I do not think so, as no other website access affected and no other problems with my laptop.

Hmmm... Try clearing the cache/cookies for the website and trying again.

Got the hard-copy from DT in late April, and used the rules to gin up a 'minor race', the 'Aisa' for my campaign. I used artwork from 'BadBadTiger' off DT for visuals.

I notice the link you are referencing above is "http://www.drivethrurpg.com" but the one I go to is "https://www.drivethrurpg.com/en/". Makes me wonder if you used the https address if you would stop having the error. Might be worth trying.
