The new era... but with classic traveller ?

TNE is a great setting for military campaigns using CT/Striker and Mercenary. Have done several 'Star Viking' type campaigns.

It definitely works with Classic Traveller. After all, the TNE 1248 rules assume CT as the default. :)

By all means, go for it!

With Regards,
Flynn

My whole campaign is set up that way TNE timeline using the CT rules base, now if life would stop getting in the way...

I was able to run all of two games when the airlock blewout again, so the Traveller stuff goes back into the storage box.

I hear you Donald, but death gets in the way way more, I imagine...

...it's late so this hit me a bit funny, morbid as it is, and no disrespect is intended.

To absent friends, Travelling beyond the veil...

I've been playing TNE with CT/MT mix going all the way back to when TNE came out. Hate the TNE rules, but find the setting workable.

My impression of TNE was it was "the version that was going to bring the Cyberpunk players to Traveller".

It did, for a while... until they noticed the lack of chrome... ;)

Seriously, it has been said that it was supposed to be more cyberpunk in feel.

It definitely had a large dose of the Cyberpunk literary influence. But while I enjoy some CP literature to read, I don't so much enjoy playing it.

For some reason "grunge" seemed to be the thing in the early '90s. Everybody seemed to be going to dark and edgy. The target demographic all flocked to Vampire and it's cousins instead. Cyberpunk was possibly a symptom of the same thing rather than a direct cause.
