OTU Only: The Kursae

Looking through my T5 book (lots of goodies hidden in there), I see a reference to The False Dawn, a period 200,000 BCE, dominated by non-humans called The Kursae.

Are the Kursae new in T5? I've never heard of them before (nor The False Dawn). Did they appear in an adventure?

I haven't followed T20, MGT, TNE, or GT. Were they featured in one of those editions of Traveller?

They appear to be new (or old, if you will) to T5. They might be Knightfall's Primordials, but with so little published evidence to work from, only Marc knows.

They are not the Primordials as they pre-date the Ancients.

The Shadows aliens are a possibility but I have a vague memory of a description of them being a more recent extinct culture - but that could be fanon or faulty memory :)

My bet is a new extinct civilisation that MWM has had in his TU but have never before made print.

Could they be related to the "Dushis Khurisi" labelled on the far side of the Milky Way Galaxy map?

(Also, as an aside, the ancient name of the star Beta Eridani is, coincidentally (?) - Cursa/Kursa).

That didn't make it to canon, but the author released to the net the follow-on adventure since GDW didn't.
