Most of it has been very positive, it is a good setting after all, and with the 1248 book due...

it is worth keeping up the interest.

I like the setting too, however at the moment I use the rules in a CT setting, but has plans to move the campaign all the way through Rebellion and Hard Times until they wake up in post virus Imperium.

The Usual Suspects(tm) have already weighed in at RPG.net, so I'll limt my comments to this:

Traveller: The New Era combines a superb setting with mediocre rules. Plunder it for ideas, run it with something else.
