Just make it explicit that the only thing you are checking are typos and layout errors.

Finding the signal would be a problem.
Meanwhile, I know half a dozen people are crawling it page by page for typos.
Yea, it's hard to imagine the overhead of managing the influx of information. It would take longer to categorize it than the actual net work necessary in the end.
And it's spectacularly uninteresting work at that.
Having a select few reliable, and capable people are more than enough.

Other systems do just that, with new material. Releasing the PDFs and crowdsourcing the edits is not undiscovered country, doing so or not and working with what follows both seem to have pros and cons. My faith in the half dozen, then.

Anyone doing any editing is going to be under a non-disclosure agreement prior to the rules being released.
We're not, actually. Not a formal one, at least.
But the FUP still applies, so...
I'll answer any specific questions as best I can, but I really am not conversant in T5. The ones who are, they are busy running through the text with a fine toothed comb looking for typos.

I am surprised by that. The editing I have done has always been under a NDA.
That's why I said specific questions also. "What's been done with combat" is pretty vague as to what the expectations are. I assume folks with issues with it have specific examples that could be addressed.
