In a TNE game a question arose regarding the use of C-PAWs in an atmosphere. I think someone had also been watching the Star Trek film "In Search of Whales" I can't remember the actual name.
The question was basically, given a standard atmosphere how much energy would a particle accelerator bombardment need to do in order to
a. temporarily change weather patterns (huge electrical storms etc) and
b. sufficienty ionize the atmosphere to cause either temporary or permanent damage.
Given ancients superweapons and their varied methods any thoughts?
