Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Players wanted..

Antaine

SOC-9
G'day Everyone,

If you are in SE Qld, specifically the Sunshine Coast or hinterland, and you are into Classic Traveller (maybe you want to try the original and the best version), then this post is directed at you.

I'm inviting up to 3-4 players to actually come and sit at my kitchen table with a few D6, paper, pens/pencils and your imagination for good old fashioned RolePlaying!!!

That's right, face to face with the sound of the dice rolling across a wooden table top, the shuffle of pizza boxes containing cold pizza and the soft hiss of the opening of even colder home brew bottles at sunrise after a night of death defying daring do! :D

I know it's hard to comprehend in this day and age that someone would want to trade the Pentium 4, 2.6GHz, for something as 1970's as paper and pencil, dice and all-nighters but what can I say, I miss the roleplaying. :(

Maybe you have a kitchen table you'd like to share, a pile of collected material and no desire to referee a game. Let's get something happening! I will referee gladly, I say again, I will referee gladly.....I'm rusty, but eager.

Any takers?

Reply here or e-mail me and let's work something out.

Cheers,

Look, if I had a car, I'd bloody well drive up there to play!

I'm in Toowoomba - just a _few_ hours too far away. There ain't much Traveller happening here. :(

Bah. Maybe I will have to move back to Brissie next year. My gaming is suffering.

Now don't give up. Maybe we can see about sorting something out. Toowoomba isn't that far relative to the net. :D

Well, I'm stuck in Sydney (almost as bad weather as Melbourne) and my Traveller players are all too busy with RL to have a game ... Good luck with finding someone to play Antaine!

I'm in california, usa and had I game (classic traveller) going with one of you blokes using grip, every saturday (my time at 4:00pm) that lasted several months...the GM was one of you, me, someone in chicago, and a guy in london.

tonnes-o-fun, until he (our GM) got deployed, he was .AU airforce

Love to play, however work+family+fuel+time+location = sorry
In Brisbane, south side.
Already running PFRPG at a friends on Friday nights and starting MT campaign at home for my son and his mates.

G'Day folks. I'm in Brissie (well, Bayside to be finnicky, actually ;) ). It's sorta a bit loke something approaching halfway between the Sunshine Coast, and Toowoomba (as a quick aside Alanb - and as a born and bred Toowoomba-ite... RUN!!!!! RUN WHILE YOU STILL CAN!!!!!

)

It's still a bit out of the way though, Antaine... (bugger of a drive actually).

G'Day Falkayn :D . Long time no see, mate. Errr... Sydney would be somewhat more of a drive... You could always commute up to us in the Sunshine State ;)

And, Nurd_boy... California? You make it sound like it's too far to walk? Awww... c'mon.. pop on down to the better hemisphere, mate :D
file_23.gif
. Ya can't beat a Xmas BBQ by the pool........

If any of you folks are happy to commute, I've got a campaign underway at the moment. It's sorta the LBB Traveller, but not completely.

And yes, Antaine, I too remember the good ol' days of pencil paper, and dice... (puts in reminicing teeth, and dreams of the days when I had my own hair.....)

@ "reminicing teeth" ....well after this debacle called christmas is over, we might have to seriously look at the commute thing.....even if it was something like once a month, it's better than no game at all.....

<Alan looks vaguely interested. Then he remembers that a bullock dray takes about two weeks to get to Brisbane from Toowoomba. Then he remembers that Cobb and Co.'s coaches were a lot faster than bullock drays. Then he remembers that this isn't the 19th century. Oh, yeah. Gosh, dang, all this festive cheer ain't doing my braincells much good. I mean, gosh, how could I have forgotten the invention of the steam engine?>

it's the swim more than the walk, perhaps small leaps from island to island?...love to pack up all my 'stuff' and kiss this bankrupt/overhyped state g'bye and pop down permanent-like...except work could be a problem [work, that thing one does to get money to keep gaming...] can i take my pet macaw?
:D

Ooh, that would be a problem. The quarantine laws are pretty full-on here.

Of course, we've got lots of interesting parrots here.

I've just arrived home after a round trip of 3200km by road in 3 days....I hit 2 sulpher crested cockies and about a dozen galahs on the road...not to mention the owl, magpie and some small furry creature that would make tourists go "awww...how cute."

You pay how much for these birds!!!!!!!!!!

import bans...has been since '92.

all parrot type birds are domesticly raised, native birds(crows, etc..) are illegal to own, quakers/monk parakeets are illegal in california, so are ferrets.

the president of the foothills bird club is an aussie, on his last trip home he said NANDAY conures where over a thousand US $'s there....here they're about $200 [or less]...

That GM was me! Hey, I remember you...
Is grip still around? How do I start up a game again?

My deployment went fine... a bit of excitement in my life for a change.

I'm gonna try to get a pens and paper game together 1st. If that fails I'll fall back to an IRC client. Don't know whether grip is the way to go or try something else.... any ideas???

As for T20, I'm a purist at heart. I've noticed the pdf quick and dirty rules are available but I'm avoiding them unless I can't find players for CT.

As a last resort, we could always fire up grip again and play 1 on 1 (with a heap of NPCs).

I invested in t20 with the hopes of finding players for pnp (pen-n-paper) game (do to fact d20 is so popular...). seems only a few old timers like us out my way still remember ct.

gaaawds, how I pine for days BEFORE D20 !!!

OK, I've been away for a couple of years....well between 1 and 2....so where is everyone and what can we do about kick starting some game play around a table face to face with our teeth in glasses of water? ;)
