I always thought that the MT design system was basically STRIKER dressed up, but the weapons given in the MT Referee's Manual don't match up with what you're doing. Hmmmmm.....

They do match with the examples given in Striker, so the difference probably isn't due to a mistake on my end...

This is good stuff. How difficult is weapons design using Striker? Is Striker very 'gearheaded'?

Striker is moderately gearhead; it is less so than the MT Refree Book/COACC/Hard Times combined to a degree, but not by much. I use it to create stuff for CT (now I'll be doing this more by Piper's system as it is far simpler and less time-consuming), and to vent off my Gearhead energies when they need an outlet. The good thing is that Striker is quite interesting to work with, is quite detailed and very varied, and you could make almost everything you want with it - within realistic or quasi-realistic limits; it's also VERY accurate, as I've heared that RL (i.e. TL7) military vehicles could be recreated by Striker quite accurately.

The main problem of Striker is the very limited size of its "library", that is the small number of ready-made weapons and vehicles provided with it; you can't wargame with it without gearheading seriously beforehand, and you'll have to design most, if not all, of your vehicle weapons yourself. This thread another try to provide the Striker wargamer and/or designer with a (very slowly) expanding library of such material.

About the ease of working with Striker, it might look complicated the first few times you design with it, but once you get used to Striker, it takes you about 10 minutes to design a Laser, 20-30 minutes for a more complicated weapon (e.g. CPRs), and about an hour to design a complex vehicle (usually a military one; simple civilian ones are EASY), assuming you have the weapon ready. In comparison, it takes about 10 minutes to design a High Guard small craft, and 20-30 minutes for a small-scale starship (up to circa 10,000 tons?).

Now, a new Infantry Small Arm:
