Stephon as the Kennedy of his Generation

It just occurred to me as I was watching a program on Galbraith, perhaps, the whole Stephon assassination thing is merely a metaphor for Kennedy with Varian also being Robert Jr.

Wanting to introduce reforms but thwarted by a person who did not understand the reform. Perhaps, Dulinor believed himself to be the shooter but as it has often been pointed out the assassination was quite impossible, therefore, that points to a conspiracy. Could we outline the contours of this conspiracy, as I have always wanted to do a thing around the events of 1116 where the players take minor roles in the unfolding drama.

Similarly, in the OTU, there are many indications that Stephon wanted to be a reformer but just was too slow. Often in those times when reform is slow there creates radical currents or incubators that accelerate or sabotage reforms.

Therefore, in the thousands of Pocket Empire polities created in the wake of Hard Times, there might be the mini attempts at carrying out the legacy of Stephon in minature. Whilst, the Virus wipes out many, the RC retains this vestal hope for the future.

Daryen, I agree but we are more products of own culture than sometimes we would like to admit. These things form the subconscious influences that form our matrix of the world. Game designers, whilst, they are cognascent of these currents may not even be aware of how they are influenced by them. Or some like Mr. Nilsen embrace them wholeheartedly. My point here is to generate life and new discussions of what others might not have thought of.

Not well up on TNE, but I'd say GWB espouses a particular kind of 'democracy', one that is heavily managed and largley plutocratic. There are other forms of democracy, and it's not as if GWB is particulaly happy with some democratic results, namely in Iran, Venezuela, and Gaza. Don't really want to get into any argey bargey that's best left for the 'Pulpit here, so thats all i shall say...
