Starships

///// 005 /////
A number of shipyards certified by the Imperial Navy produce the Chrysanthemum class. Due to the use of easy-to-build block structures, construction is carried out not only by mega corporations, but also by medium-sized shipyards. Although the Imperial Navy has established a baseline and a standard design, the functions and capabilities of the escort destroyers vary slightly from one shipyard to another. Although the Chrysanthemum class is built to military standards, it is not equipped with a nuclear damper system, making it vulnerable in a full-scale fleet battle.

The Chrysanthemum class have a characteristic spherical block for control and habitable compartment in the bow. The central hull with the powerplant, conventional drive and fuel tanks is located behind it, and jump drive pods are located on both broadsides. Energy weapons, laser weapons, etc. are designed to concentrate firepower in the direction of the bow. From Block III onwards, which no longer carries a moduler cutter, it has been given a streamlining function to enter the atmosphere so that it can be refueled by gas giants.

By 1100, a total of 10 Chrysanthemum-class destroyers had been loaned to Imperial provinces on District 268 to stabilize the security of the subsector. During the Fifth Frontier War, 50 of the Mothballed Block IIs were recommissioned for the first time in 80 years. The story of three generations of parents and children riding the Chrysanthemum class spread throughout the Spinward March space to raise the fighting spirit.

Trivial corrections to the translation.

Very very minor differences that only make a meaningful difference to native speakers, but which can be instructive to anyone who has English as Second Language (ESL). Fortunately, the intent behind the thoughts and sentiment of the original are clear, so there's a really good basis to work from for these types of superficial modifications.

Not complaining, just assisting. 😅

I think this might be your best art yet.

Although they have been replaced by newer-designed Ferderance-class destroyers, a large number of the Chrysanthemum-class destroyers are still active in the number fleet. In addition, a substantial number of the obsolete Chrysanthemum-class destroyers have been converted to the Imperial Reserve Fleet and the subsector fleet and continue to be active. The Chrysanthemum class, which has been operated on a large scale, has plenty of spare parts, and will continue to serve as a workhorse for the Imperial Navy for the foreseeable future.

This is the last shot of the Chrysanthemum class.
The next ship will .....

PURCELL CLASS EXPRESS BOAT TENDER

/////// Z ///////
The Purcell-class express boat tender is responsible for servicing the X-boats when they arrive a system. It constantly roams about the stellar system, picking up newly arrived X-boats, re-fueling them, performing minor maintenance operations, replacing fatigued pilots*1).

*1) Marc W. Miller: Traders and Gunboats Traveller, Supplement 7, GDW, 1980

I used Clayton R. Bush's spreadsheet to design the express boat tender.
