Starports!

I just have huge love for Marc's game, and the LBB aesthetic :)

Thanks Micki! Always good to see your professional & comprehensive publications!!

Super nice of you to say - I love the Traveller LBB's, the visual design was so distinct and different from all the other RPG looks-and-feels (still is!)... :)

It was as much a function of the technology as anything else. CT was produced just before desktop publishing software came out and was (I believe) done with a phototypesetter and paste-up.

You can see the use of DTP software on the Megatraveller books, which were published in the latter part of the 1980s when that technology was starting to become established. By the first half of the 1990s DTP had largely taken over the print industry.

No idea. I actually stumbled upon it quite by accident. I was looking up references to an old e-mail account I had, and I got a hit on this because I am listed in the credits (though I know nothing of this project).

It is a nice book, with material from all over the place, collected all in one book.

I'm curious...this looks like book #2.

What was book #1?

Anybody found it?

Howdy S4; hope all's well. So this has the official "S4 Seal of Approval (tm)"?

Hi again folks!

Hi again - sorry for the delay in responding. Since these files are still getting some interest, here's a bit of info.

I did them for my own gaming group, based on Web-accessible content - but some of this might indeed impinge on FFE or Loren Wiseman's rights, so I'm glad to take any files down or seek more formal approval if they feel this to be a violation of trademark.

The numbering was because 'Starports!' was the second LBB-style project I worked on, either labeled 'MK-' or 'STP-'. The other ones are/were:

Sector CJ-078 Survey Data STP-001 (a pdf from SectorMaker, my data-driven sector-generator software)

Starports! STP-002

Traveller Library Data Archives MK/STP-003 (depending on which one was posted)
http://www.mickikaufman.com/traveller/LibData.pdf

Traveller News Service Archives MK/STP-004 (depending on which one was posted)

Forms and Rules Errata STP-005

There are also a few others, such as:

1001 Characters! MK-021

(data-driven random characters in an LBB pdf)

Spinward Marches LBB pdf, including UPP descriptions, trade routes, basic cargo and animal encounters tables for primary worlds, rendered using SectorMaker from .sec file
