My friend and I are writing a world/system generator and, as we play TNE, we're starting with the TNE version first. Unfortunately, we have encountered a problem and there's no clear resolution. It concerns orbits.
If you look at page 192, during stage 7, you roll for the Companion Orbit, which may be out to as far as 14 (possibly 19 with the errata). However, you roll 2D6 + modifiers during step 11 to determine the maximum number of orbits. What if you are supposed to put the companion in orbit 12 and there are only 7 orbits?
Additionally, the orbits are further modified/reduced by chart 13, orbit zones. What happens if chart 7 tells you to place the companion star in an orbit that chart 13 tells you is inside the main star?
