Here is the latest in spy drone technology. It fits in a pack, and weighs about 12.5 pounds each. A system weighs 40lb (2 drones and a ground station).
It is inaudible at 100m, can fly at 50knots, and has an almost 2G rate of climb (once you factor in overcoming gravity). And, it can recognize a man-sized target at 250m (night = 125m).
The only thing that bugs me (as a former ground FAC) is the 80m target location error. I don't think I want this thing calling in fires just yet.
