Speaking of the Novels...

Not that I am probably not going to buy MJD's novel...especially, if it comes out in print...ebook, I will leave for my employer.

Does anyone have relevant contact information for Paul Brunette, author of the GDW TNE novels?

He is scheduled to write something Gold Rush Games but his email is a dead link. As I was wondering if he ever considered marketing the third novel under an independent publisher.

I may be in the minority, but I honestly enjoyed the 2 TNE novels that Paul Brunette wrote, and would love to own the 3rd one... if & when it were ever published.

His writing style seemed to capture the flavor of the campaigns that I was familiar with -- they 'felt' like Traveller to me.

I also really enjoyed the novels and would love to see the third one.

I wasn't impressed, in many ways, though I WANTED to like them very badly. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

The first one had good elements but the second one went downhill, although the binding was nice.

I prefer the grittiness of MJD's work. Hopefully, his ebook company will put out a print version.

Thats funny, I preferred the second book to the first. I would certainly have got the third if it had appeared.

The first book (my copy at least) was made from Bonded Superdense. THAT was impressive.

Was anyone else's so much heavier than other novels of the same size?

Both of my books were pretty heavy. Reminded me of a paperback format copy of "The Hulk" I had as a kid.

(I like dredging up old threads)

The novels were the initiative of one of the printers that did our books and maps, and used the same heavy paper stock they used in our rulebooks rather than the porous, high-acid paper used in mass market paperbacks. I assumed it was because they never did that sort of printing, and had to just use the stock they carried. So they were produced like trade paperbacks, very high-quality physical components.

I think it just goes to show: who the frog cares how old a thread is if someone wants to contribute a new bit of info to it? Aren't people always getting beaten to death for NOT using the search function?
