I know far far too many people who won't be able to wait to have this once it's ready, and are the last people in the world who should have it at all. Think classic Homer Simpson "did I say that or think it" moments. D'OH!

But I do like the application of the technology to help those who can't speak for various reasons. That is where the real value in it lies. If they have to market it to the self important mobile communications crowd to pay for the research and mass production that's cool

Yep, a great example of what I mean. But not just for those with ideas, even more so for common folk. Victims of strokes for example. I'd love to see this tech in common wide use sooner than later for that reason. And like I said if it means marketing it to the tech fazionizta to get it to mass production cheapness like cell phones I have no problem with them paying the way

Argh! As a teacher I need this like a hole in the head. Hard enough to keep the munchkins minds off texting now. I teach high school and they are practically surgically attached to their cell phones now. It'll be fun to have to check for voiceless mikes along with blue tooth headphones... at least when they text it's easy to spot. *sigh* I can really see the potential in this to help people though, from the aforementioned Stephen Hawking's of the world right on through to tactical units and troops (whispering into a mike is a pain when you want everything quiet).

You didn't miss anything. I forced myself to finish it, but I regretted the waste of time. It was a shaggy dog story that didn't have a proper end anyway.

Score 1/10. You could pick a couple of half-decent gadgets out of it, maybe.
