SpaceShip Two setback

The company that built SpaceShip One and is building SpaceShip Two experienced an explosion yesterday while testing with nitrous oxide. It killed two and injured four more. Here are some articles:

You really have to be careful with nitrous oxide. Here's a tip o' the glass to those who lost their lives, and one hoping the rest will carry on with making private space travel reality. :(
 
That is some sad news. I tip my glass to those fallen as well.

I hope those who remain will soldier on in this first small step to bring mankind to the stars
 
From the sound of it, it was an industrial accident at a remote test stand. Granted, its bad that some were killed, and some are in the hospital, and the test stand looks pretty destroyed. But it does not appear as devastating as I had first feared when I heard about it. No vessles or other hardware was destroyed.

Apparently, they've re-designed the White Knight 2 "carrier aircraft", while the investigation into said accident is occouring....
The health & safety report is due out on 28th January 2008....
White Knight 2 will now have a 43 Metre wingspan, & 4 Jet engines (2 fuselage & 2 wing mounted) compared to White Knight I's 23 Metre wingspan & 2 fuselage mounted jets....
