Sophont Body Structure

I'm having some confusion as to how to read/roll/interpret here.

I've got a critter - a walking gatherer, with trilateral symmetry.

Rolls for front legs result in AL and back legs result in LN.

Arms Legs and Legs No Limbs.

I have absolutely no idea how that's supposed to be interpreted.

Any thoughts?

How about a lower torso of three legs all which have the ability to grasp items and manipulate them? The upper torso can be where the main digestive organs and sensory organs would be located. I would think that you would have two legs to the rear and one "leg/arm" in the front in order to be symmetrical. Does this help any?

Limb Group 1: AL
Limb Group 2: LN

Leg Group One includes manipulators, so one set of Arms, and one set of Legs, all with hands or whatever.

Leg Group Two doesn't have manipulators, so one set of Legs only.

Trilateral symmetry indicates that there are probably three Arms (with manipulators), three Legs with manipulators, and three Legs.

Sufficiently alien.

As Marcus suggests, one leg in the back for support and two for balance. Or, two legs for support and one for balance. Or one strong leg for hopping and two for steering. Or three identical legs and the critter shuffles. Or spins. Imagine how different its inner ear would be from ours.

Those middle legs -- the ones with manipulators -- could be extremely handy (ha!) for swinging from trees. Or climbing sheer rock faces. Or vaulting over craters or chasms. Ever needed a third hand? This guy has six!

That could work! I like it. I'm less certain how to get things down to two arms and two legs if I'd wanted to with this system, but maybe on the third or fourth try that might start coming clear.

IN the meantime, sure. Three arms, six legs, three of which have grippers like the arms do.

Spiny, with tusks.
