COMMENTS
Like many high population worlds, Daramm has long maintained an Imperial Serivce Squadron that would be made available for service with the Imperial Navy during wartime. It been long recognised that Daramm's current Imperial Service Squadron of five 10,000 ton tech level 13 missile cruisers is obsolete and overdue for replacement. Likewise it is accepted that, in view of the ongoing Solomani Rim War, an increase in combat capability is warranted.

Nonetheless, their intended replacements (the Admiral Sherin class) have managed to generate considerable controversy within the Domain of Gateway. The core cause of this controversy is the name of the lead ship. Admiral Sherin was the commander of the Luriani Protectorate fleet that defeated the Imperial Navy at the Battle of Rurur and sparked the Luriani War (93-96). When taken in the light of the ongoing controversy over the replacement of the previous (Luriani) archduke, this choice of name can not fail to be viewed as provocative.

The class itself is a relatively conservative design built around a Type G meson gun. Its limitation to Jump 3 reduces its value as a fleet element, but makes it ideal for the traditional light cruiser roles of scouting and commerce warfare. It carries a platoon of Marines for shipboard security and use as surface raiding parties. Somewhat unusually it also carries a small routine crew security detachment (a traditional Luriani approach) on the grounds that the Marines might need to be deployed to a world whilst the ship continues it mission.

As usual another nice ship design with a good background, and definitely usable.

One thing, I have a feeling there's already been an "Admiral" Class, I think it was a battle rider in the TNE game Battle Rider.

At one point you do refer to it as the "Admiral Sherin" class, calling it this would probably avoid confusion.
