TRAVELLER NUMBERS
A cylinder with the same measurements as the 777 has 2223.6 cubic meters of volume. Now of course you loose some for streamlining, but this is just for comparison sake.
This works out to the 777 having 164.7 Displacement tons using the 13.5 cubic meters per displacement ton rule. YMMV. She can carry as designed 14.8 DT of cargo and carries 12.6 DT of Fuel, not quite enough for a Jump 1 but with extra fuel in the cargo hold she will do at least J 1 and a couple of weeks worth of M 1 I figure.
What all this is in aid of is to help everyone realize just how big a "Small Ship" like the Scout Courier really is!
It also puts those starship prices into perspective quite nicely given that not only do they fly, and can handle space travel, but they also can travel FTL! What a bargain at only 30-40 MCr!

Now I know that IRL and MTU are different, but I think I will be explaining to all my players that "You come up to the landing bay and see a starship, it looks about as big as a Boeing 777, and standing by the landing assembly you are dwarfed."
