If you haven't been following or visited the Outrim online comic lately there's some sad news in the Notes section below the comic.

Here's the link to the latest page:

If you don't know what Outrim is you've been missing a very fun, very Travelleresque, comic by one of the Citizens here, Piper.

Here's the link to the CotI announcement thread of the comic for the background and some comments:

Well, we can hope this medical issue turns out to be temporary and this ending up a hiatus instead of a death.

This strip has been the highlight of my week for many weeks now. Let's hope all of those tied up in the emergency pull through.

Chatting with the creator recently he hopes to get back to it in the future and will let us know here.

Here's hoping the hiatus is brief :)

I too hope that the medical issue is temporary.

I'm reading it now. Very funny so far. Love the concept of intelligent critters in space. Brilliant! :D

Brilliant concept ... but it's the concept of intelligent creatures in space that drove me away from it.

And yet you accept the existance of Vargr and Aslan. Hiver and Droyne.

True. But with the comic I was hoping for humans (or at least critters AND humans). Though I take your point.

Nevertheless, I want Piper to come through this crisis, so that he may continue the comic for all (even me, should I change my mind).

I was gutted when I heard this. Outrim has been one of the highligts of my week. It's traverllerish with a little bit more and it's just got so much humanity. I'll really miss it. Paulo has a real gift to make people happy. I hope he continues to use it when his family stuff is resolved. If you're reading this, Paulo - THANK YOU!!! I've had so much fun following those critters and each one of them, with their distinctive personalities, is a gem. I shall miss them all. (Even the round robots in engineering!).

My standout choice of strip was the death in the planet assault.
